Manan Vyas is a student of B.Com Honours at Hindu College, Delhi University. He has a deep interest in economics, foreign policy and international finance and politics. He has extensively studied the American Origin of the Global Financial Crisis and has traced its origin to the Asian Currency meltdown and a change in the banking ideology. He has furthermore studied in-depth the European Sovereign Debt Structure and analysed the origin of the Greek Sovereign Debt Crisis. In terms of foreign policy he has studied the situation in the Arab world and debated the Western Intervention in Libya. The potential implications of China’s meteoric rise on the world stage have also been analysed and USA’s future foreign policy in the region predicted. He wishes to serve in the government in the areas of policy making and welfare transfer mechanisms.
He is also passionate about trekking and has participated in 5 treks in the Himalayas. He plays football and badminton apart from holding a brown belt in karate. He reads extensively and his favourite authors are Jack Higgins, Ken Follet, Jeffrey Archer, JK Rowling and John Grisham. His favourite websites include The Economist, The New York Times and Comics.com. Pearls before Swine and Calvin and Hobbes are his favourite comic strips. He listens to soft rock and alternative along with a bit of gothic rock too. Coldplay, Lifehouse and Evanescence are amongst his favourite bands. `His favourite movies include the Godfather, Shawshank Redemption and Casablanca.
